An architectural projection mapping production using the Hôtel de Ville itself to carry the story of its history and reconstruction.
Created by Graphics eMotion for Habits de Lumière 2022 in Épernay, the 15-minute show followed the building’s history through the voice of architect Victor Lenoir. My contribution covered several sequences combining lighting, particles, compositing and motion design within the studio’s larger production.
I contributed multiple projection mapping sequences to the show as part of the Graphics eMotion team; the overall show — direction, narration, staging and other sequences — was a full studio production, not a solo work.
The façade was treated as part of the narration rather than a neutral screen. Composition and movement followed the building’s structure so historical and poetic moments remained readable from the public viewing distance.
The finished show used large-scale projection to connect the Hôtel de Ville’s architecture with the history being narrated across its façade.
