Overview

Created for Parc de la Rivière Batiscan with XYZ Technologies, the installation introduces the site through an interactive model at reception. I produced the complete visual content for the physical model before the interactive layer was integrated by the wider team.

My Contribution
  • Created the complete projection mapping design for the physical model.
  • Developed the summer and winter visual content projected onto the terrain.
  • Handled terrain look development, water behaviour, shading, lighting and visual effects.
  • Prepared the final compositing delivered before integration of the interactive layer.

The interactive features were developed afterwards, by others, and were outside my responsibilities.

Pipeline
  • Physical-model projection planning
  • Terrain and seasonal look development
  • Water and environmental motion
  • Multi-angle readability review
  • Final compositing
  • Handoff for interactive integration
Technical Challenges
  • Challenge — projected content had to align with the model’s physical geometry and remain legible from several visitor viewpoints.
  • Production response — projection accuracy, terrain contrast, seasonal transitions, water behaviour and lighting were evaluated together against public readability.
  • Production impact — the visual system gave visitors a clear seasonal overview of the landscape before they began exploring the park.
Design Intent

The objective was to make the park understandable at a glance rather than reproduce every detail literally. Lighting, shading, water and seasonal transitions were judged by how clearly visitors could read the terrain from different positions around the model.

Project Impact

The final content became the visual foundation of the interactive installation, helping visitors better understand the landscapes and seasonal transformations of Parc de la Rivière Batiscan before beginning their visit. The full visual production was completed in 72 hours.
