PARALLÈLES

Interactive Installation · Real-Time
2023
Transversal

An interactive installation built around a synchronized camera and presentation pipeline linking cinematic sequences with procedural visuals. Completed in 28 hours.

Overview

Developed with Transversal, PARALLÈLES required two visual systems to behave as one production timeline. Cinematic camera sequences drove the presentation, OSC cues triggered procedural events in TouchDesigner, and the resulting imagery returned to the real-time scene for capture and review.

My Contribution
  • Designed the camera language and animated the cinematic sequences used to present the installation.
  • Structured the master timeline and connected its cues to procedural visual events through OSC.
  • Integrated the returned visual output into the scene for synchronized capture and compositing.
  • Prepared presentation-ready sequences used during project validation.
Pipeline
  • Camera design and cinematic animation
  • Master timeline sequencing
  • OSC cue exchange
  • Procedural visual generation
  • Return capture and real-time compositing
  • Presentation validation
Technical Challenges
  • Challenge — camera motion, procedural imagery and presentation timing lived in separate systems but had to remain synchronized during review.
  • Production response — the cinematic timeline acted as the master clock, sending OSC cues outward and receiving the generated imagery back into the presentation scene.
  • Production impact — the team could review camera work and procedural visuals as one coherent sequence instead of validating each system separately.
Project Impact

The connected workflow turned separate visual processes into a reviewable presentation sequence within the project’s 28-hour production window.
